Coxen and Johnson Industries
Although improv and stand-up comedy flourish on both banks of the Charles, prewritten sketch comedy (think Mr. Show or Chappelle's Show) is usually encountered by chance. That could be changing, thanks to the Coxen and Johnson Industries sketch group. Whether it's the soothing sounds of "love guy" Barry Tattle or the secrets of life as conveyed by a young Mexican and his burro, the comic duo of Nate Johnson and Chris Coxen regularly offers absurd characters and scenarios reminiscent of 1970s-era Saturday Night Live. Catch their evening of sketch comedy at Jimmy Tingle's Off-Broadway Theater on August 27.
